Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the MySafeMeet iOS application (“the app”) provided by The Cloud Labs (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. About MySafeMeet

MySafeMeet is a personal-safety assistance app. It lets you schedule meetings, add trusted safe contacts, and set up automatic check-in monitoring. If you miss a check-in, the app alerts your chosen contacts by push notification and/or SMS, optionally including your last known location and emergency information.

2. Safety Disclaimer — Please Read Carefully

MySafeMeet is a safety-assistance aid only. It is NOT an emergency service and does NOT guarantee your safety or rescue. In any genuine emergency, you must contact the emergency services directly — dial 999 (UK), 112 (Europe), or 911 (USA/Canada).

The delivery of check-in reminders, missed-check-in alerts, and location data to your safe contacts depends on your device being powered on, having a working data or cellular connection, and on third-party networks and services (including Apple Push Notification service, SMS carriers, and AWS) functioning correctly. We cannot guarantee that alerts will be delivered in all circumstances. Safe contacts must also have a working device and connection to receive notifications.

Do not rely on MySafeMeet as a substitute for emergency services, personal security measures, or professional safety advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.

4. Account Registration

To use the app you must create an account using your name, email address, and phone number, authenticated via AWS Cognito. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and up-to-date registration information.
  • Keeping your account credentials secure and not sharing them with others.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at hello@mysafemeet.com immediately.

5. Subscription and Payments

5.1 Free Trial and Subscription Plans

Full access to MySafeMeet requires a paid subscription:

  • Monthly plan: £2.99 per month
  • Annual plan: £29.99 per year

Both plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription fee will be charged to your Apple ID automatically.

5.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions are auto-renewable. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

5.3 Billing

All billing is handled by Apple through the App Store. Your subscription is charged to the Apple ID linked to your device. We do not store or process your payment card details.

5.4 Managing and Cancelling Your Subscription

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access until then.

5.5 Apple’s Standard EULA

Because MySafeMeet is distributed through the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard End User Licence Agreement (EULA) also applies. You can read Apple’s standard EULA at:

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple’s EULA, these Terms govern to the extent permitted.

5.6 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with its App Store refund policy. We do not control refund decisions.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use MySafeMeet only for its intended purpose — personal safety monitoring. You must not:

  • Use the app to monitor, track, or surveil another person without their knowledge and consent.
  • Add a person as a safe contact without their genuine consent to receive notifications.
  • Use the app to harass, stalk, or harm any person.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app or its backend services.
  • Use the app in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you are in breach of these conditions.

7. Accuracy of Contact Information

The effectiveness of the app’s safety features depends entirely on you providing accurate and up-to-date contact information for your safe contacts (including correct phone numbers for SMS alerts). We are not responsible for failed alerts caused by incorrect, outdated, or invalid contact details you have entered.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your safe contacts:

  • Are aware they have been added and have consented to receiving notifications.
  • Have provided accurate contact details.
  • Understand the nature of the alerts they may receive.

8. Location and Background Processing

The app uses your device’s background location and geofencing capabilities during active meetings. You must grant the relevant permissions for these features to work. You can withdraw permissions at any time in your device settings, but doing so will prevent the app from detecting your arrival or monitoring check-ins.

9. Intellectual Property

The app, its content, design, source code, trademarks, and all related intellectual property are owned by The Cloud Labs or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our intellectual property other than as necessary to use the app for its intended purpose.

10. Third-Party Services

The app relies on third-party services including Amazon Web Services (backend infrastructure), Apple Push Notification service (push notifications), and SMS carriers (text message delivery). We are not responsible for the availability, reliability, or policies of these third-party services.

11. Disclaimers of Warranty

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The app will be available at all times or free from errors or interruptions.
  • Notifications or alerts will be delivered to your safe contacts in all circumstances.
  • The app will detect your arrival at or departure from a meeting location with perfect accuracy.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any statutory rights you have as a consumer under UK law that cannot be limited or excluded.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

  • Our total liability to you in connection with the app — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — will not exceed the total subscription fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
  • We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, including loss of data, loss of profits, personal injury, or failure of safety alerts to be delivered.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Cloud Labs from any claim, loss, or damage arising from your misuse of the app, your breach of these Terms, or any inaccurate information you have provided (including incorrect safe-contact details).

14. Account Deletion and Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and will remove your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. We will give you reasonable notice where practicable, except where immediate termination is necessary for legal or security reasons.

15. Changes to the App and These Terms

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept revised Terms, you should stop using the app and cancel any active subscription.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or your use of the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.
